Coach Profile: Sean Jones

  • Runs all distances up to Marathon

Sean has been a member of BFR since 2016 and recently completed and qualified as a Leader in Run Fitness with England Athletics.

Sports-mad since he can remember he played lots of team sports as a youth before an ACL injury put pay to his Rugby playing days.

Sean took up running and then Triathlon to get fitter in 2009 as he recognised if he didn’t improve his fitness now it would only get more difficult as the years passed by.

His first race was the (legendary!) Woodley 10K and he still remembers the feeling of elation and achievement when crossing the line… little did he know that it was the start of his personal journey that has taken him to 6 Marathons & 3 full distance Ironman races.

Sean is naturally enthusiastic and enjoys helping other runners on their journey to their personal goals and particularly enjoys contributing to the BFR weekly track sessions as well as any opportunity to run as team in a relay.

He is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider and MH Champion for BFR so recognises the massive benefits running can have on overall well-being.
