Our Coaching Team

We’re incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic selection of coaches supporting us on our running journeys. Their guidance, encouragement, and expertise make sure the sessions are kept challenging and enjoyable.

James Robinson

I've been a member of BFR for 2 years now and got involved on the coaching team to help encourage others on their journeys.  I have been running for a number of years now but, as I have got older I have found the need to put more structure into my training and not just rely on winging it. I hope that I am able to help people progress on their running journey and am happy to offer any support I can. Look forward to seeing you at track and please come and talk to us coaches with any questions. If myself or the coach you speak to doesn't have the answer.. we will know someone at the club that does..

Mike Sankey

Hi, I've been running for more years than I'd care to admit after starting the sport as part of losing weight - then the bug bit me and I'm stuck running now! Across over 100 races, years of training and many mistakes.... I hope that I've gathered enough experience to support runners on their journey. If I could offer one tip, never set limits on yourself.

I love being one of the run coaches at Bracknell Forest runners as I really enjoy giving back something to the club and helping other people in their running journey.

I started running 12 years ago after losing my mum, I found it helps me cope with everyday life and anxiety. Joining the club 4 yrs ago was  the decision I ever made as it makes you feel part of a running community. I love that the club is so inclusive of all runners and I have found that track sessions really helped to make me a better runner. As a personal trainer I was excited to expand my knowledge and become a run coach and I really enjoy being able to lead the sessions on a Wednesday evening and help people to reach their goals. You will see me on a Wednesday and joining the social forest run on a Sunday as well as taking part in a lot of events representing BFR

Jules Fairley

I joined BFR back in 2002 after I had signed up for the Reading HM which originally started in Whitley Wood, I used to be 17 Stone, smoked 50 cigarettes a day and was a heavy drinker.

I decided to get into fitness after stopping my bad lifestyle and absolutely loved running and then a few years later got into triathlon which I am still very active.  I love being a coach for BFR and enjoy passing on my knowledge and have written training plans for some members.

I am a qualified Personal trainer and currently an LiRF but need to find time to do my CiRF.
